Basketball: Krum takes down Decatur with second-half surge

Rhett Robinson poured in a game-high 29 points and the Lady Bobcats fended off the Lady Eagles 45-41.

The Lady Bobcats outscored Decatur 28-20 in the second half, overcoming a seven-point halftime deficit to get the win.

Kylie Fitzgerald led the Lady Eagles with a team-high 14.

Decatur fell to 1-5 in District 9-4A. The Lady Eagles traveled to Sanger Friday.

ARGYLE 44, BRIDGEPORT 42

For the second time this season, the Bridgeport Sissies came up two points short of District 9-4A foe Argyle, falling 44-42 on the road.

Bridgeport lost to the Lady Eagles 48-46 in a home game earlier in the month.

Emily Vidal led the way for the Sissies with a game-high 20 points, knocking down several clutch shots for the short-handed Sissies. Bridgeport has dealt with a host of injuries this season to several key players, namely 6’2 post Delaney Ingram, who has been sidelined with a broken wrist.

The Sissies dropped to 18-6 on the season and 3-3 in district play. Bridgeport took on Gainesville Friday and will face a crucial contest Tuesday against Sanger at home.

ALVORD 71, PERRIN 21

The Alvord Lady Bulldogs routed Perrin 71-21 behind a balanced scoring attack and strong defensive showing. The Lady Bulldogs had 10 different players make an entry on the score sheet.

Paycee Edgett finished with 16. Katelyn Schedcik and Cydney Bailey chipped in 10.

Alvord improved to 4-2 in District 11-2A play. The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Poolville Friday

SLIDELL 50, MIDWAY 14

Cate Zuniga scored a game-high 25 points and the Slidell Lady Hounds stayed perfect in District 21-A with a 50-14 romp of Midway.

Bailey Meyer threw in 17 points, draining two 3-pointers.

Slidell held Midway to just two points in the first quarter and took a 26-5 lead into halftime. The Lady Hounds continued to pour it on in the second half, outscoring Midway 24-9 in the final two quarters.

With the win, Slidell improved to 9-0 in district play. The Lady Hounds traveled to Bellevue Friday.
