Baseball: Oberle tosses gem – Sophomore propels Decatur to series win

After losing 7-3 in Game 2, the Decatur Eagles stormed back in Game 3 Saturday afternoon to win the 4A Region II area title 7-1 over Princeton.

Decatur advanced to the 4A Region II quarterfinal and will play Crandall later this week at McKinney North. Game 1 is at 7 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 is at 7 p.m. Friday. Game 3, if necessary, would be at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Chase Oberle got the win for the Eagles in the decisive Game 3.

The sophomore threw a complete game, scattering one run on five hits. He struck out three and walked four.

Bodi Rascon and Cole Dave drove in two runs each in the victory. Decatur won the series 2-1.
