Baseball: Krum sweeps Eagles

Decatur fell behind 7-0 after two innings and could not catch up to Krum, losing 7-4 Tuesday.

The Bobcats took both games from the Eagles this season.

Beau Bedford got the start for Decatur. He surrendered seven runs on six hits in four innings. Bryson Oates and Bodi Rascon each threw scoreless innings of relief out of the bullpen.

Triston Read continued his hot streak at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Dayne Chapman went 1-for-3 and also drove in a run.

The Eagles dropped to 14-12 overall and 3-4 in District 9-4A.

ARGYLE 12, BRIDGEPORT 0

No. 1 Argyle rolled Bridgeport 12-0 as two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter.

Conner Holzer took the loss for the Bulls. He gave up nine runs on 10 hits in three innings of work. Michael Young threw two innings of relief, scattering three runs on two hits.

Bridgeport fell to 8-15 and 2-5 in District 9-4A.

BOYD 13, NOCONA 3

Boston McIntire threw a complete-game and Boyd pummeled Nocona 13-3.

The sophomore scattered three runs on nine hits in seven innings. He struck out six.

The Yellowjackets scored five runs in the fifth inning. Rustyn Ellis and Lane Wilson each collected RBIs in the frame. Ellis drove in two runs and Wilson tallied three RBIs.

Dylan Couture went 2-for-3 and plated three runs.

Boyd improved to 8-3 in District 9-4A.

PARADISE 21, CITY VIEW 1

Trevor Helton drove in six runs and Paradise thumped City View 21-1 in five innings.

The Panthers scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to seal the victory. Mitchell Sellars went 3-for-5 at the plate and collected three RBIs. Jace Essig went 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Mikey Passariello earned the win for Paradise, allowing one hit in two scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

Paradise moved to 6-5 in District 9-4A.

ALVORD 15, ERA 4

Alvord used a seven-run first inning to rout Era 15-4.

Wright Clint led the Bulldogs at the dish. He went 2-for-2 with a walk and drove in two runs.

Ace Edgett picked up the win for Alvord. He gave up four runs on four hits over four innings. He struck out five and walked five.

The Bulldogs moved to 5-7 in District 11-2A.

COLLINSVILLE 6, CHICO 5

Chico fell to Collinsville 6-5. The Dragons dropped to 6-5 in District 11-2A.

Chico has lost four of its last five games.
