Baseball: Decatur falls to Krum

Decatur surrendered an early four-run lead in a 6-4 loss to Krum Thursday night.

Chase Oberle took the loss for the Eagles. He scattered six runs on 10 hits. He struck out four and walked one. Beau Bedford pitched one and two-thirds innings of relief, allowing one hit.

Wilson Hicks went 3-for-4 at the plate. The Eagles scored two runs in the first and two runs in the second.

Decatur fell to 12-8 on the season and 1-1 in District 9-4A.


Bridgeport’s comeback bid fell short Wednesday against Krum in a 12-6 setback.

Connor Holzer got the start for Bridgeport. He surrendered 10 runs on 13 hits in four innings of work. Krum scored four runs in the first frame.

Bridgeport took the lead after scoring five runs in the second inning, but was unable to hold it. The Bobcats added four runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth and sixth.

Michael Cole, Jadon Maddox and Daniel Delgadillo all drove in runs in the loss.

Bridgeport fell to 6-11 on the season and 0-1 in District 9-4A.


Boston McIntire threw six innings and Boyd edged Henrietta 10-7 on Thursday.

McIntire surrendered seven runs on 10 hits.

Creighton Witt drove in three runs, going 3-for-5. Dylan Couture had two RBIs and went 2-for-4 at the plate.

The Yellowjackets got two insurance runs in the seventh inning to seal the win.

Boyd moved to 11-10-1 overall and 5-1 in District 8-3A.


Paradise was unable to string together timely hits in a 4-1 loss to Henrietta Tuesday.

The Panthers managed just three hits on the night. Trevor Helton, Jace Essig and Tre Valentine all had hits for the Panthers.

Mikey Passariello took the loss for Paradise. He scattered two runs on seven hits. He walked seven in four and two-thirds innings of work.
