With first place in District 8-3A on the line, Boyd could not hold on to a slim lead, falling to Holliday 3-1.

The Yellowjackets managed just one hit, but took an early lead on an error by the Eagles.

Boston McIntire got the start for Boyd and went five and two-thirds innings, scattering two runs on three hits. He struck out five.

Creighton Witt pitched one and one-thirds innings of relief.

Payton Brown had the Yellowjackets’ only hit of the game.

The loss snapped Boyd’s six-game winning steak and dropped the Yellowjackets to 13-11-1 overall and 7-2 in district play. Boyd traveled to Paradise Friday.


Mikey Passariello threw a complete-game shutout as Paradise blanked Nocona 10-0.

Passariello surrendered one hit in six innings of work. He struck out 11.

Cade Goodman led the Panthers at the plate, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs.

Paradise put up six runs in the sixth inning with Goodman, Mitchell Sellers, Will Reeves and Colby Cox driving in runs.

The Panthers improved to 4-5 in District 8-3A. Paradise hosted Nocona Friday.


Muenster jumped out to a 10-run lead and never looked back, routing Alvord 10-0.

The Bulldogs surrendered 15 hits in five innings. Alvord was held to just one hit.

Tanner Petree got the start for the Bulldogs and scattered seven runs on seven hits.

Alvord fell to 4-6 in District 11-2A. The Bulldogs traveled to Chico Friday.


Chico’s was unable to snap its losing streak against Saint Jo, falling 8-4.

The Dragons have lost three games in a row. Chico dropped to 5-4 in District 11-2A. The Dragons hosted rival Alvord Friday.
