Williamson receives retirement reception

RETIRING FROM POST – Longtime Wise County Republican Party chairman Allen Williamson was honored during a reception Saturday night. Among those in attendance were Precinct 4 Commissioner Gaylord Kennedy, Tax Assessor Monte Shaw, County Judge J. D. Clark, Wise County Republican Party Chairman Eric Marney, Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Callie Manning, Former Wise County Republican Party Chairman D. A. A reception was held Saturday to honor retiring Wise County Republican Party chairman Allen Williamson.

The Runaway Bay resident spent the past 10 years as the county’s chairman. Williamson, 43, is an attorney with Boyd, Powers and Williamson and plans to stay active in the party.

Eric Marney of Boyd takes over leadership of the party.

The reception was sponsored by the Wise County Republican Party and the Wise Republican Women, which is the local affiliate of the Texas Federation of Republican Women. It was held at the home of Wise County Precinct 2 Commissioner Kevin Burns and his wife, Gina.

Two of the guests arrived in an aircraft, landing on Burns’ runway.
