PBR Challenge

#1 JW HART PBR CHALLENGE

The JW Hart PBR Challenge returns for the 15th year in Decatur Saturday. The bull riding begins at 8 p.m. at the Wise County Fairgrounds. The PBR event winner will have the opportunity to ride Seven Dust, a three-time PBR World Finals qualifier, for $50,000. Organizers Andrew Rottner, Wendell Berry, Calvin Jackson and Alan Sessions have planned not only a fun night of bull-riding, but also an epic weekend to entertain the whole family. There will be bull fighting and a couple of veterans will get the opportunity to ride a bull through Warriors and Rodeo. The Eighter from Decatur Barbecue Challenge will crown champions for brisket, chicken, pork and spare ribs. There will also be a Fan Zone.

Cruise Nights

#2 CRUISE NIGHTS

Cruise Nights on the Courthouse Square is June 2.

The streets around the Wise County Courthouse will be shut down for a classic car show and a night of small-town fun. Visitors can meander through all makes and models of vehicles, plus grab a bite to eat and shop local antique stores and boutiques.

This will be the last show before it goes on hiatus in July and August.

Summer Heat

#3 STAY COOL

Triple-digit heat is in the forecast Friday and Saturday, making it a good weekend to be in the pool or at the lake. Drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks if doing outdoor activities. Also, don’t forget the sunscreen.
