Food Truck

#1: EIGHTER FROM DECATUR FOOD TRUCK CHALLENGE

The 2nd Annual Eighter from Decatur Food Truck Challenge returns to downtown Decatur Saturday.

This event was a huge hit last year. Organized by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, the main attraction is, of course, delicious food. More than 20 trucks are expected, featuring mouth-watering menus to fit almost any taste.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Live music starts at 4 p.m., and there will be a kid’s zone to keep the little ones entertained.

Election

#2: GENERAL ELECTION

City council and school board elections are Saturday. Alvord ISD will have a bond election, while voters in Boyd will go to the polls to decide on starting a Municipal Development District and raising the tax rate for Wise County Emergency Services District No. 1.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so there should be plenty of time for you to swing by between baseball games and grocery shopping.

If you’re confused about issues on the ballot or need to know more about the candidates in your community, we’ve got your back. Go to wcmess.com/mayelection. You’ll find all you need to make an educated decision.

Art Show

#3: YOUTH ART SHOW

Wise County students will showcase their art from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Decatur Conference Center for the sixth annual Wise County Art Association Youth Art Show. Entry fee is $5 per piece, and the best in show will win $100. WCAA will also award three graduating seniors $1,500 college scholarships.
