#1 INTERNATIONAL EXOTIC ANIMAL SANCTUARY WISHLIST WEEKEND

See lions, tigers, bears and several other beautiful animals during Wishlist Weekend at the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Boyd.

Bring one item on the sanctuary’s wishlist and tour the facility for free. Tours are 11 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday. Children must be at least 7 years old to participate in the tour.

Wishlist items include water hoses, cleaning supplies, fresh produce, unsalted peanuts, office supplies, toilet paper and maintenance supplies.

#2 ROY COOPER’S 34TH ANNUAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP JR. CALF ROPING

Roy Cooper’s 34th Annual World Championship Jr. Calf Roping is Wednesday through Saturday at the NRS Events Center.

The action starts at 9 a.m. every day with the following divisions over the course of the event: 10 and under boys and girls breakaway; 12 and under boys and girls breakaway; 12 and under tiedown; 15 and under tiedown; 15 and under girls breakaway; 19 and under girls breakaway; women’s open breakaway; and 19 and under tiedown. The 2018 tie-down winner receives use of an NRS trailer for one year.

Grilling

#3 SAND FLAT BARBECUE

The Sand Flat Fire Department is holding its annual barbecue fundraiser 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its station, 745 County Road 1744.

Along with lunch, there will be silent and live auctions and two large ticket raffles.
