Weekend Reunion

#1 WISE COUNTY OLD SETTLERS REUNION

It’ll be a rip-roarin’ good time Saturday night at the Wise County Old Settlers Reunion.

The weeklong event wraps up Saturday, so don’t miss your chance to take a spin on the carnival rides, track down some good food and visit with friends. Jarrod Morris will take the stage 9 to 11 p.m., and Joshua Ingram will play 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The entertainment is free. Parking is $10 Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Weekend Flip

#2 HAYHURST TV PREMIERE

The Hayhurst Brothers make their premiere on reality show “Texas Flip N Move” at 8 p.m. Friday on the DIY Network. You probably first heard of the creative gents upon the completion of their first public art project – a sculpture of two steel dice just off the Decatur Square. They also designed the interior of Trinity Street Coffee Bar and have been active in downtown Bridgeport.

In fact, the grand opening of Hayhurst Brothers Design and Build – their first storefront – is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at 1305 10th Street in Bridgeport. Guests will be treated to finger foods, Trinity Street Coffee and a drop or two of whiskey.

Weekend Swim

#3 LATE NIGHT SWIM

Bridgeport Parks and Rec has your back. They’re keeping the city pool open late Friday for an after-dark swim. From noon to 11 p.m., you can swim … and then swim some more.

For the price of admission, this is the most bang for your buck in the midst of a torrid summer.
