#1 HUNTING COURSE

Hunting season is just around the corner.

While you may be daydreaming about setting up deer camp or sighting in your rifle, the most important thing to check off your to-do list is hunter safety certification.

All hunters born after Sept. 2, 1971, are required to take the course.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is having a class for adults and kids age 9 and older Saturday at Weatherford College Wise County.

Cost is $25 for the 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. course, and lunch is provided. Deadline to sign up is Wednesday. Call 940-627-3341.

Mammogram

#2 MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY

Texas Health Resources is bringing the mobile mammography unit to the Best Value Pharmacy, 400 S. Main St., in Rhome Friday. To make an appointment, call 1-855-318-7696. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and patients should bring their insurance card and driver’s license or state issued ID.

If you don’t have insurance, Susan G. Komen-North Texas will provide the mammogram for you. There’s no reason not to go.

Back to School

#3 MARKET RETURNS

Wise County Market Days returns to the Wise County Fairgrounds Saturday and will hold a back-to-school event 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Free haircuts will be offered by the Weatherford College Cosmetology Department. Vaccinations will be available from the state health department. Basic school supplies will be handed out.
