The Decatur Water Board Wednesday approved the refinancing of $3.9 million in debt, saving the city $267,172 over the remaining 10-year period of the debt issuance.

The board, representing Decatur’s Wise County Water Supply District, did not extend the time of the 2027 debt retirement. The water supply district buys untreated water from Lake Bridgeport and delivers it by pipeline to the Decatur water treatment plant.
