Two flown from wreck

Two people were flown by air ambulance to area hospitals following a two-vehicle wreck on Farm Road 2123 Saturday afternoon.

According to information from Department of Public Safety Spokesman Lonny Haschel, the preliminary investigation of the wreck found that Dylan Swackhammer, 23, of Azle, attempted to make a left-hand turn from County Road 3579 onto FM 2123 and failed to yield to a GMC Acadia that was westbound on FM 2123. The GMC, driven by Staci Collie, 39, of Springtown, struck Swackhammer’s Kia Forte.

Swackhammer was taken by ground ambulance to Wise Regional Health System with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the Kia was transported by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Collie was taken to Medical City Denton by air ambulance, and a passenger in the GMC was also transported to Medical City Denton by ground ambulance.

Hashcel said that according to investigators, all the injured were treated and released.

Air Evac Lifeteam 68, PHI Air Medical, DPS, Cottondale Volunteer Fire Department, Wise County Sheriff’s Office and Wise County Emergency Medical Services and Rescue 1 responded to the accident that occurred at 4 p.m.
