The roar of motorcycles will be heard through Decatur and Bridgeport Sunday as thousands of bikers descend on Wise County to spread Christmas cheer.

The Wise County Toy Run returns for the 19th year. Lone Star Charitable Foundation President Jeff Honeycutt hopes this year’s event builds off the success of last December’s toy drive.

“We had over 2,000 bikers last year. It was the biggest one ever,” Honeycutt said. “We filled up the first parking lot by 11:04, and we opened registration at 10.”

Registration begins at 10 a.m. again this year at McCarroll Middle School. Bikers will parade through Decatur to U.S. 380 and then down the highway to Harwood Park in Bridgeport, starting at 12:30 p.m.

Honeycutt said there will be music at the start and end of the run.

Each biker brings an unwrapped toy or a $10 donation. The toys will be distributed to needy children in the county.

“We work through all the Wise County schools,” Honeycutt said.
