Runaway Bay will feature a crowded field in the mayor’s race.

Five candidates filed to run for mayor of the city before Friday’s deadline for a spot on the ballot for the May 5 election. The deadline to file as a write-in candidate was 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Current Runaway Bay Mayor John Boyd will be challenged by Jamie Griffeth, Janie Tucknies, Tim Donald and Barry White.
