A 25-year-old man was hit by a car Monday night while running across U.S. 81/287 in Decatur near Chicken Express.

Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins said Rodney Crawley, 25, of Norman, Okla., was crossing the southbound lanes of the highway, from east to west, just after 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a small Cadillac SUV.

Hoskins said Norma Phayer, 67, of Decatur had just entered the southbound lanes of U.S. 81/287 from the Farm Road 51 South on-ramp when she hit Crawley.

Hoskins said Phayer simply didn’t see the man. No charges will be filed.

According to the police chief, Crawley likely has a broken femur, but his injuries are not life threatening. He was taken to a Medical City Denton via ground ambulance by Wise County medics.
