A man evaded officers on foot after crashing a motorcycle on Old Decatur Road near Alvord Wednesday morning.

Officers searched the area for an hour according to Wise County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Craig Johnson. A K-9 unit was also unable to pick up the man’s scent.

Johnson said a deputy saw the motorcycle, which was running terribly and also did not have a license plate.

“The guy started to take off and fell over,” Johnson said.

The man took off on foot after dumping the motorcycle, which turned out to be stolen.
