Information sought on burglary, theft cases

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help with information about recent burglaries.

The first set of burglaries took place on or about May 2 in the Shale Creek area near Rhome.

A surveillance camera captured the image of what appears to be a man wearing a baseball cap, jacket, long pants and dark colored shoes walking up a driveway during the early morning hours. A photo of the suspect can be seen on the Wise County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Numerous vehicle burglaries were reported in Newark on or about May 12 through May 15.

Vehicle burglaries were reported in the area of Pettit Drive, Sandy Bass Lane, County Road 4877 and County Road 4876.

Investigators are also seeking information leading to the identity of the person responsible for the theft of a large amount of copper wire taken from a location in the Slidell/Greenwood area on May 25.

A surveillance camera captured images of a male suspect who appears to be wearing a hat, long pants and possibly gloves. The photos can be seen on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

Anyone with information about the thefts or burglaries should call Crime Stoppers of Wise County at 800-643-TIPS(8477) or 940-627-TIPS. Calls may be made 24 hours a day, and callers will remain anonymous.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for the first, most accurate tip received.
