The Wise County Quilt Guild presented a quilt to Military Warriors Support Foundation for its fundraising effort.

The quilt was a joint project of Guild members.

Wendell Berry, Director of Fitness at Fit-N-Wise accepted the quilt. Berry, along with Andrew Rottner, Calvin Jackson and Alan Sessions, founded the non-profit Thousand Miles Till Home.

Mititary Warriors Support Foundation is in its fourth year and raises money to give homes to Purple Heart veterans, wounded soldiers and Silver Star families, as well as providing rehabilitation for veterans and Christmas Active Duty Boxes for soldiers.

This quilt will be auctioned at the Hero’s Banquet in March. The money raised will go toward the group’s 20th home.

A second red, white and blue patriotic quilt was also constructed and donated by Guild member, Sherry Denton.
