The fundraiser for Abby Bramlett, a local 5-year-old girl battling a rare form of brain cancer, raised $60,084 Sunday.

Bramlett, who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), has been undergoing experimental treatment at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston since June.

Money from he fundraiser was to assist in paying medical bills and allow for her father, Clay Bramlett, to take off work and be at Abby’s side during treatment.

“The turnout exceeded our expectations,” said Marianne Henderson, who helped organize the event. “It was a special night for a special little girl.”

Abby was able to attend a portion of the fundraiser.
