One person was flown to a Fort Worth hospital Wednesday night following a two-vehicle crash in the south part of the county.

The wreck happened around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Farm Roads 51 and 2123, east of Cottondale.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Bryan Keith said a passenger car was eastbound on FM 2123 when the driver ran the stop sign and struck a southbound passenger vehicle on FM 51.

The driver of the vehicle that ran the stop sign had to be extricated from the car before being flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Keith said the injuries are not considered life threatening.

The other driver was not seriously injured.

Traffic was shut down in all directions while the wreck was cleared.

Names of the drivers were unavailable at press time Friday.

Boyd and Cottondale fire departments responded along with DPS, Wise County EMS, Boyd Police Department and Air Evac.
