Wise County commissioners made a slight change to their regular meeting schedule, effective Oct. 1.

At the recommendation of County Judge J.D. Clark, commissioners Aug. 27 set their regular meetings for 9 a.m. on the second Monday of the month. A second meeting, if needed, will be held the fourth Monday.

Previously, commissioners met on the first Monday following the 10th of the month and then again two weeks later.

“I don’t know why it was set up that way, but it’s confusing,” Clark said.

Another change starting in October is the meeting location. Beginning with the Oct. 8 meeting, commissioners court will be in the County Court-at-Law No. 1 courtroom on the third floor of the Wise County Courthouse. It’s just across the hall from the current meeting room but will provide more space.

Clark said the posted agendas will list the meeting location as the third floor of the Wise County Courthouse so that if Judge Melton Cude has a last-minute need for his courtroom, commissioners can still meet in the third-floor conference room.
