Aurora residents will have an alcohol vote this November.

The Wise County Elections Office recently verified that a petition for an election for the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed drinks, did include the required number of signatures of registered voters in the city.

Aurora City Administrator Toni Wheeler confirmed the city has called an election for Nov. 6, the date of the general election.

The city was required to collect at least 102 verified signatures in order to call the election.

Wheeler said two alcohol-related businesses have expressed interest in locating to the city – a craft brewery and a distillery.
