A fire destroyed a barn off County Road 3381 and Farm Road 2123 in Paradise Tuesday afternoon.

Paradise, Boyd and Cottondale firefighters responded to the blaze. The efforts of the firefighters contained the fire to the barn.

Boyd Fire Chief Chris Caster said no livestock or animals were inside at the time of the fire.

“It was fully involved when we got here,” Caster said. “It’s contained. The grass is still green enough to keep it in check. In a couple of weeks, it could have been a different story.”

The barn, located in a pasture surrounded by a large berm, was inaccessible by fire engines, but brush trucks were able to reach the area to contain the fire.

Caster said due to the lack of burn marks outside the barn, he believes the fire started inside the barn.
