It’s time to honor dear, old dad. Father’s Day is Sunday, June 17.

Hit the links with your dad for the 30th Annual Decatur Chamber of Commerce Father’s Day Golf Tournament.

Festivities start at 8 a.m. Friday at the Decatur Golf Club, and cost is $100 per player with four-person teams. Players will receive two mulligans, 25 raffle tickets and complimentary beverages on the course, plus lunch.

Only 18 teams will be allowed to play, so register now. Call 940-627-3107. Deadline is Thursday.

The golf club is at 211 Country Club Road.



Find your super suit for the release of “Incredibles 2” at Plaza Cinema 4 in Decatur.

The theater is bringing in Next Level Laser Tag for a special event noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 16. Price per game is $4, and each game is seven minutes. There is a slight discount if you also purchase “Incredible” tickets.

They do ask that children age 6 and younger be accompanied by an adult.

An afternoon in the air conditioning, plus lasers and candy equals a win for parents and kids.

The movie arrives in theaters Thursday.



Trinity Street Coffee Bar is having social runs every Wednesday now through Aug. 29. The run is at 7:30 p.m., and the course is 5K.

Afterward, runners get a drink ticket for one of the following: shot of espresso, small coffee, Lone Star beer, or a shot of well whiskey, tequila, rum, gin or vodka.

So lace up your sneakers! Everyone is welcome – runners, walkers, young and old. Bring the whole family.



Kick your kids off the couch. Fit Y.O.U.T.H. Free Fit Fun Summer starts Tuesday.

The program, imagined by the energetic Fit-N-Wise staff, consists of summer fitness classes for kids who were in kindergarten through fifth grade last school year.

The classes are 1 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through July 19 (with the exception of July 3 and 5.) Class sizes are limited to 20 per grade level, and you register weekly.

Activities will include yoga, drumstix, boxing and games, plus gym and pool time. For information, call 940-627-2708 or drop by the front desk.
