#1: MERRY CHRISTMAS
The bomb diggity of all holidays is Tuesday.
Christmas is finally here, and after all the frantic preparation, it will be nice to finally stop and enjoy the festivities. Don’t worry about what didn’t get done. Instead, cherish the time with family and friends, revel in the magic and savor the moments of peace.

Wise County basketball teams will be back in action starting Thursday at various holiday tournaments across the area. The Decatur Eagles will compete in the prestigious Whataburger Tournament in Fort Worth. The Lady Eagles, Boyd Yellowjackets and Boyd Lady Jackets will travel to Gainesville for the NCTC Tournament. The Bridgeport Bulls will host their annual holiday classic starting Thursday. The Sissies will travel to Lubbock for the Caprock Tournament. The Paradise Panthers and Alvord Bulldogs will compete in the Windthorst Tournament. The Paradise Lady Panthers will head north for the Burkburnett Tournament. The Chico Dragons and Lady Dragons will do battle in the Munday Tournament.
#4: UGLY SWEATER SHOOT
Drag out those ugly sweaters one last time and any unwanted gifts.
Nock It Archery Center is having a special shoot Dec. 29. Wear an ugly sweater or use one as a target. You can also bring a wrapped, unwanted gift to exchange for, hopefully, a better unwanted gift.
Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for kids. RSVP by calling 940-627-6622.
Nock It’s disclaimer: “We will be shooting sweaters that are NOT worn by people or living things.” (Good to know.)
#5 CONTRA WHAT?
Contra dance. The Big White Barn is having a contra holiday dance 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Contra is a folk dance made up of long lines of couples. Dance callers will teach the dances; no experience (or date!) is required. Dress is “casual modest.” That’s modest like, “Please, no booty shorts.” Not modest like “Wear your burka.” (Their words, not ours.)
Cost is $5 per person or $20 per family. Kids are welcome. Just bring a drink or dessert to share.
