REMIND ACCOUNTS UPDATED – Alvord ISD has updated several Remind accounts for the 2018-19 school year. Find an updated list of numbers at alvordisd.net.

SCHOOL PICTURES – School pictures will be taken Sept. 11.


SCHOOL PICTURES – Fall school pictures at the intermediate school will be taken Sept. 18.

COLLEGE FAIR – Boyd High School College Fair is 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 at BHS.

BEF BUNCO – Boyd Education Foundation’s fundraiser – Bunco Gone Wine – is 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave. Tickets are $25. BISD staff pays $15. There will be a taco bar, wine, silent auction and raffles, in addition to bunco games. Guests must be at least 21 years old.


FISHING CLUB – A bass fishing team organizational meeting is 6 p.m. Wednesday in the middle school shop building. The meeting is for any high school student who wants to participate, parents and anyone willing to volunteer as a boat captain.

BMS YEARBOOKS – Bridgeport Middle School yearbooks are for sale now on the Jostens website. Go to the middle school’s home page for the link.


THUNDERFEST – The Chico Athletic Booster Club will present Thunderfest at 6 p.m. Saturday at Dragon Stadium. The Dragons will be introduced. There will also be a cake walk, face painting, dunking booth, bounce houses and an obstacle course, as well as a hot dog eating contest. A hamburger meal will be served for $6.


GRANDPARENTS DAY – Carson Elementary is having pastry breakfasts celebrating Grandparents Day Thursday and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Children with last names A-K and their grandparents are invited to Thursday’s breakfast. Students with last names L-Z and their grandparents are invited to Friday’s event. Call 940-393-7505.

SEASON TICKETS – Season ticket sales for the 2018 football season end Friday. Tickets are $35 per seat, and they may be purchased 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DHS ticket office.

MCCARROLL OPEN HOUSE – McCarroll Middle School open house is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 10.

DHS OPEN HOUSE – Decatur High School meet-the-teacher night is 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10.

FFA KICKOFF – Decatur FFA will have its first meeting of the year at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10. All students enrolled in an agriculture course and their families are invited to attend the end-of-summer bash and enjoy food and games.

PEP RALLIES – Decatur High School pep rallies have been moved to Friday mornings. They will start at 9:40 a.m. The public is invited to attend, but everyone must enter through the front doors of the school and check in at the office.

SPIRIT TABLES – Young Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:20 a.m. until the bell rings. Items are priced from 50 cents to $15 and include things like foam fingers, bracelets, T-shirts, megaphones and more. Carson Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:30 to 8 a.m.


GRANDPARENTS DAY – Prairie View Elementary School invites grandparents to eat with their students Friday to celebrate Grandparents Day. Morning pre-k is 7:20 to 7:50 a.m. (breakfast), and afternoon pre-k is 11:20 a.m. to noon (lunch). All other grades are during their lunch times. RSVP on the flyer sent home with students.

CURRICULUM NIGHT – Prairie View Elementary Curriculum Night is 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

CHISHOLM TRAIL OPEN HOUSE – Chisholm Trail Middle School’s open house is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13.


HOMEWORK HELPERS – Beginning Sept. 4, Paradise Elementary School will have a room set aside to assist students with homework. Students will also be able to take AR tests during this time. Due to space, it’s limited to the first 30 students who ask for a pass.

GRANDPARENTS DAY – Fourth and fifth grade at Paradise Intermediate School are celebrating Grandparents Day Thursday and Friday, 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. Fourth grade grandparents are invited to the Thursday event, and fifth grade grandparents are welcome to attend Friday. A donut breakfast will be served in the library and at 8 a.m. students and grandparents may go to the classroom for morning routine. Grandparents may then read a book with their child and get their picture taken at a photo booth in the conference room.

UIL SIGN UPS – The deadline to sign up for UIL academic events at Paradise Intermediate School is Friday. Sign-up sheets are in each hall.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS – Paradise Intermediate School needs parent volunteers. Pick up an application in the front office. For more information, email jdowler@pisd.net.


GRANDPARENTS LUNCH – Slidell Elementary will hold a grandparents lunch Friday.
