REMIND ACCOUNTS UPDATED – Alvord ISD has updated several Remind accounts for the 2018-19 school year. Find an updated list of numbers at alvordisd.net.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT – Alvord High School will hold an information session on financial aid for seniors at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in the high school cafeteria.

RISE AND SHINE – Alvord Elementary School’s fifth graders will be presenting at Rise and Shine at 8:15 a.m. Oct. 12 in the Alvord Elementary gym.


COLLEGE FAIR – Boyd High School College Fair is 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 at BHS.

BEF BUNCO – Boyd Education Foundation’s fundraiser, Bunco Gone Wine, is 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave. Tickets are $25. BISD staff pays $15. There will be a taco bar, wine, silent auction and raffles, in addition to bunco games. Guests must be at least 21 years old.

VOTER REGISTRATION – On Sept. 25, Boyd students 18 and older will have the opportunity to register to vote in the Boyd High School library.

HS STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS – Student council candidates will give speeches from 1:50 to 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.


BMS YEARBOOKS – Bridgeport Middle School yearbooks are for sale now on the Jostens website. Go to the middle school’s home page for the link.

HOMECOMING PARADE – The Bridgeport High School homecoming parade will start at 7 p.m. in downtown Bridgeport Sept. 24. The bonfire will follow at Bridgeport High School.

ALL-STATE RECOGNITION – Bridgeport High School would like to invite all past all-state football players back for a special recognition during the annual homecoming game against Gainesville Sept. 28. PEP RALLIES – Decatur High School pep rallies have been moved to Friday mornings. They will start at 9:40 a.m. The public is invited to attend, but everyone must enter through the front doors of the school and check in at the office.

HOMECOMING – This week is homecoming for Decatur High School, culminating with Friday’s game against Graham. The homecoming queen will be announced at halftime. The high school is having its battle of the classes dress-up contest Thursday.

SPIRIT TABLES – Young Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:20 a.m. until the bell rings. Items are priced from 50 cents to $15 and include things like foam fingers, bracelets, T-shirts, megaphones and more. Carson Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:30 to 8 a.m.

CURRICULUM NIGHT – Carson Elementary will hold curriculum night 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25.

BOOK FAIR – Carson Elementary will hold a Scholastic Book Fair from Sept. 24-28.

COLLEGE DAY – Young Elementary will hold College Day Sept. 26. Students are encouraged to wear college gear.

FISHING CLUB – The Decatur Fishing Club will hold an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria. Contact Jared Laaser at 940-626-9343 for information.


MIDDLE SCHOOL MUSICAL – Northwest ISD’s middle school musical for 2018-19, “Mary Poppins Jr.,” will take place Friday and Saturday, with performances on both days inside Byron Nelson High School’s performing arts center. The first performance of the musical is 7 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, there will be two performances 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets for each performance are $5 per student and $10 per adult.

DRILL TEAM CLINICS – The Northwest Sidekicks will host their dance clinic 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 29, for children in pre-kindergarten to high school. The Eaton Sapphires will host their clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 13, for girls in kindergarten to eighth grade. Each clinic registration comes with a T-shirt (while supplies last) and opportunity to perform at a high school football game or pep rally. Registration is $35 per participant at each clinic.


HOMEWORK HELPERS – Paradise Elementary School has a room set aside to assist students with homework. Students will also be able to take AR tests during this time. Due to space, it’s limited to the first 30 students who ask for a pass.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS – Paradise Intermediate School needs parent volunteers. Pick up an application in the front office. For information, email jdowler@pisd.net.

HOMECOMING PEP RALLY – The homecoming pep rally is 2:45 p.m. Friday.


EARLY DISMISSAL – Slidell schools will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
