REMIND ACCOUNTS UPDATED – Alvord ISD has updated several Remind accounts for the 2018-19 school year. Find an updated list of numbers at alvordisd.net.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT – Alvord High School will hold an information session on financial aid for seniors at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in the high school cafeteria.


SCHOOL PICTURES – Fall school pictures at the intermediate school will be taken Sept. 18.

COLLEGE FAIR – Boyd High School College Fair is 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 at BHS.

BEF BUNCO – Boyd Education Foundation’s fundraiser – Bunco Gone Wine – is 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave. Tickets are $25. BISD staff pays $15. There will be a taco bar, wine, silent auction and raffles, in addition to bunco games. Guests must be at least 21 years old.

HOMECOMING PARADE – The Boyd High School homecoming parade will be held 6 p.m. Monday. A community pep rally will follow at Yellowjacket Stadium.

VOTER REGISTRATION – On Sept. 25, Boyd students 18 and older will have the opportunity to register to vote in the Boyd High School library.


BMS YEARBOOKS – Bridgeport Middle School yearbooks are for sale now on the Jostens website. Go to the middle school’s home page for the link.


PEP RALLIES – Decatur High School pep rallies have been moved to Friday mornings. They will start at 9:40 a.m. The public is invited to attend, but everyone must enter through the front doors of the school and check in at the office.

SPIRIT TABLES – Young Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:20 a.m. until the bell rings. Items are priced from 50 cents to $15 and include things like foam fingers, bracelets, T-shirts, megaphones and more. Carson Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:30 to 8 a.m.

GRANDPARENTS DAY ACTIVITIES – Young Elementary will host grandparents Friday morning.

HOMECOMING THEMES – Young Elementary is inviting its students to celebrate homecoming during spirit week Sept. 17-21. The week’s themes are: Monday – dress like your favorite children’s book character; Tuesday – dress like what you want to be when you grow up; Wednesday – dress like a super hero; Thursday – dress like a cowboy or cowgirl; Friday – dress in Decatur Eagle gear.

CURRICULUM NIGHT – Carson Elementary will hold curriculum night from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25.

BOOK FAIR – Carson Elementary will hold a Scholastic Book Fair from Sept. 24-28.


CHISHOLM TRAIL OPEN HOUSE – Chisholm Trail Middle School’s open house is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

ADAMS OPEN HOUSE – Leo Adams Middle School’s open house is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

ADAMS BOOK FAIR – Leo Adams Middle School will hold a book fair through Friday.


HOMEWORK HELPERS – Beginning Sept. 4, Paradise Elementary School will have a room set aside to assist students with homework. Students will also be able to take AR tests during this time. Due to space, it’s limited to the first 30 students who ask for a pass.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS – Paradise Intermediate School needs parent volunteers. Pick up an application in the front office. For information, email jdowler@pisd.net.

HOMECOMING PARADE – The Paradise High School homecoming parade will start at 6:30 p.m. The homecoming pep rally is 2:45 p.m. Sept. 21.

GRANDPARENT LUNCH – Paradise Elementary second graders will have the opportunity to have lunch with grandparents Wednesday. Third graders will have lunch with grandparents Thursday.

RING ORDERS – Jostens will be on the high school campus Monday to take class ring orders during lunch.


EARLY DISMISSAL – Slidell schools will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
