REMIND ACCOUNTS UPDATED – Alvord ISD has updated several Remind accounts for the 2018-19 school year. Find an updated list of numbers at alvordisd.net.

RISE AND SHINE – Alvord Elementary School’s fifth graders will be presenting at Rise and Shine at 8:15 a.m. Friday in the Alvord Elementary gym.


BEF BUNCO – Boyd Education Foundation’s fundraiser, Bunco Gone Wine, is 6 p.m. Saturday at the Boyd Community Center, 420 E. Morton Ave. Tickets are $25. BISD staff pays $15. There will be a taco bar, wine, silent auction and raffles, in addition to bunco games. Guests must be at least 21 years old.

ELEMENTARY PICTURE DAY – Fall picture day is Thursday at Boyd Elementary.

FUN RUN – Boyd Elementary will hold its Pumpkin Fun Run in PE Oct. 18.


BMS YEARBOOKS – Bridgeport Middle School yearbooks are for sale now on the Jostens website. Go to the middle school’s home page for the link.

PEP RALLY – Bridgeport ISD will hold a distrcit wide pep rally at 9 a.m. Friday.

STARZ DANCE CAMP – The Bridgeport Starz will hold a dance camp after school until 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15-17. The camp for grades kindergarten through second will be in the Bridgeport Elementary gym, grades three through five the Bridgeport Intermediate cafeteria, and grades six through eight in the Brideport Middle School cafeteria. NHS INDUCTION – Chico High School will hold its National Honor Society induction ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday.


SPIRIT TABLES – Young Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:20 a.m. until the bell rings. Items are priced from 50 cents to $15 and include things like foam fingers, bracelets, T-shirts, megaphones and more. Carson Elementary PTO has a spirit table every Friday 7:30 to 8 a.m.

DANCE CLINIC – The Decatur High School Eagle Dolls will hold a dance mini camp Wednesday through Friday. Cost is $40 for children from 4 years to eighth grade. Forms may be found at all of the campuses, on the Eagle Dolls’ webpage, and linked on their Instagram.

FUN RUN – The Young Elementary Fun Run is Oct. 26. Rann Elementary will have its Fun Run Nov. 2.


DRILL TEAM CLINICS – The Eaton Sapphires will host their clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, for girls in kindergarten to eighth grade. Each clinic registration comes with a T-shirt (while supplies last) and opportunity to perform at a high school football game or pep rally. Registration is $35 per participant at each clinic.

BAND SHOWCASE – Northwest ISD bands will host a special performance at Northwest ISD Stadium Oct. 15, with all proceeds benefitting the band programs. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5.

COLLEGE AND CAREER FAIR – Northwest ISD will host its annual College and Career Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at Northwest High School. and feature several breakout sessions with vital information and training on a variety of college- and career-focused topics.

7 HABITS FAMILY MEETING – Prairie View Elementary will hold its second of three 7 Habits for Successful Families at 5 p.m. Friday.

BOOK FAIR – Chisholm Trail Middle School will hold a book fair through Friday.


HOMEWORK HELPERS – Paradise Elementary School has a room set aside to assist students with homework. Students will also be able to take AR tests during this time. Due to space, it’s limited to the first 30 students who ask for a pass.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS – Paradise Intermediate School needs parent volunteers. Pick up an application in the front office. For information, email jdowler@pisd.net.

STUDENT HOLIDAY – No classes will be held Monday at Paradise schools. It is a staff development day.

FALL FESTIVAL – The Paradise Elementary Fall Festival is Saturday.

PEP RALLY – The Battle of 114 pep rally will be Friday before the Panthers take on rival Boyd.

BOOK FAIR – The book fair at Paradise Intermediate begins Oct. 15 and will run through Oct. 19. Family night is Oct. 16.

LETTER JACKETS – Letter jackets are scheduled to arrive Oct. 18 during lunch.


WATER/SNACK DRIVE – Slidell Elementary is accepting donations of water and snacks for the Greenwood/Slidell Volunteer Fire Department.

FFA FUNDRAISER – Slidell FFA students are selling meat and desserts through Oct. 18. Orders will be delivered by Thanksgiving. Contact any FFA student or Ethan Fortenberry at efortenberry@slidellisd.net.

SCHOOL PICTURES – Students in grades kindergarten through 11 will get pictures taken Friday.

BOOK FAIR – The Scholastic book fair will be held Oct. 15.
