BUS ROUTES – Northwest ISD and Reliant Transportation, the school district’s busing service provider, will provide families with information on 2018-19 bus routes Friday online through a link to the Versatrans service on the transportation department website. Letters will also be emailed to every registered student on that day as well. To be added to a bus route, families of registered students must have completed residency verification and any paperwork requests. Additionally, a student’s campus must have released them in the system so Reliant Transportation can add him or her to a bus route. If a student’s family waits too long to submit residency verification or outstanding paperwork, a child’s inclusion in routing could be delayed until after the third week of school, as bus routes are frozen beginning Wednesday. No changes to bus routes after this date will be made until Sept. 10. A student who meets transportation requirements but missed the residency and paperwork deadline may be able to wait at a bus stop near his or her home, but that stop may not be within a short walking distance until changes are made to routes.
