Weldon Cauthen

Weldon Cauthen, 84, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Decatur.

Graveside service was Tuesday, March 13, at Bethel Cemetery in Decatur with Van Gardner officiating.

Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur handled arrangements.

Weldon was born May 7, 1933, in Platter, Okla., to Linn and Lillian (Cordell) Cauthen. He married Mildred Loyd May 3, 1957, in Boyd. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a Baptist and worshipful master of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge.

Weldon was preceded in death by his parents; brother Wilburn Cauthen; and sisters Marquita Wells and Ceola Rickman.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years; sons Weldon Cauthen Jr. and, wife, Tammi of Benbrook and Wendell Cauthen of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
