Lula Doris Autry

Lula Doris Autry, 88, of Boyd, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, in Bridgeport.

Funeral is 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at First Baptist Church of Boyd with Dr. Billy McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Boyd.

Pallbearers are Brandon Autry, Justin Bowden, Willie Haak, Matt Jackson, Mike Riley and Chad Byford.

Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd is handling arrangements.

Doris was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Poolville to Samuel and Bessie (Loafman) Hays. She married Carl C. Autry Jr. March 26, 1948, in Boyd. They were married 54 years. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of Boyd, Eastern Star and Texas Library Association. After retiring from Lockheed Martin after 33 years, she worked as a librarian. She taught Sunday school at Friendship Baptist Church for more than 20 years and was also the treasurer for more than 40 years. Doris served as a pianist at Friendship Baptist Church and then Victory Baptist Church in Park Springs for a total of 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

She is survived by her son, Rev. Mark Autry and wife, Julie, of Boyd; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
