Kenneth Don Christerson

Kenneth “Red” Don Christerson, 79, of Paradise, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, in Paradise.

Memorial service is 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. James Ritchey officiating.

Red was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Clayton, N.M., to William and Opal (Lovejoy) Christerson. He married Linda Sampley Oct. 6, 1985, in Wise County. Red was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bridgeport. He served in the U.S. Navy where he was a cameraman stationed at the White Sands Proving Grounds. He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Charlene Box; and children Skip and Louise Christerson.

He is survived by his wife; daughter Tracie Ritchey and husband, James, of Midlothian; sons Ed Cowley of Chico, Ty Wayne Gowin and wife, Shelley, of Paradise, J.T. Gowin of Paradise and Damon Kennan and wife, Tammy, of Paradise; eight grandchildren; sisters Betty Tackle of Bridgeport and Dorothy Monk and Tammy Jones, both of Arlington; brothers Jerry Christerson of Houston and Johnny Johnston of Paradise.
