Kay Polone

Kay Polone, 80, of Decatur, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, in Decatur.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Memorial service is 1 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church, 910 South Collins, in Arlington.

Don Wilson will officiate. Pallbearers are Regan Polone, Ashton Martinez, Ryan Polone, Cody Everton, John Nichols and Dustin Polone.

Kay was born April 28, 1938, in Hammond, Ind., to John and Daphne (Owan) Bunnell. She married Raymond Polone Aug. 21, 1960, in Hammond. Kay was a homemaker and involved in First Christian Church (FCC) activities.

She was an active member of the builders Sunday school and recently donated honey bee apiary hives, tools and equipment to FCC’s Harvesting Hope Garden. Kay cared for many special needs children at Littlest Angels. She was also involved in the Decatur Book Club.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson Nick Thrasher.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years; daughters Renee Polone Thrasher of Decatur and Robin Polone Nichols and husband, Jon, of Saginaw; sons Regan Polone and wife, Shannon, of Abilene and Ryan Polone and wife, Kristi, of Boyd; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
