Ernest William Parker

Ernest “Ernie” William Parker, 54, of Rhome, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, in Decatur.

Memorial service was Aug. 10 at First Baptist Church in Boyd with the Rev. Mark Autry officiating.

Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd handled arrangements.

Ernie was born Dec. 4, 1963, in Fort Knox, Ky. to William and Wally (Zimmer) Parker. He married Kristina Ann Shaffer June 1, 1985 in Fort Knox. He worked at Guaranteed Hydromulch.

He was preceded in death by his father; father-in-law Charles Shaffer; and brothers-in-law Paul Tilley and Ralph Shaffer.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years; son Jacob Parker of Rhome; daughter Renee Parker of Rhome; his mother; brother Ken Parker of Haltom City; mother-in-law Elfriede Shaffer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister-in-law Monika Shaffer of Colorado Springs; brother-in-law Armin Shaffer and wife, Wanda, of Tennessee; sister-in-law Sandy Tilley of Fort Worth.
