Edwin Carlisle

Edwin (E.L./Ed) Carlisle, 90, of Chico, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, in Chico.

Funeral was Nov. 29 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Mark White officiating. Burial followed at Norwood-Crafton Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Noel Ruddick, Terry Hand, Harold Ray Walker, Junior Walker, Chris Harrison and Jeremy Carlisle.

Ed was born July 13, 1928, in Crafton to Edwin Forrest and Bessie (Stout) Carlisle. He married Carol Ann Christopher Nov. 12, 2005, in Reserve, N.M. Ed was a member of the Chico Church of Christ. He was a preacher and farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Julianna Carlisle; and granddaughter Angel Carlisle.

Ed is survived by his wife, Carol Carlisle of Chico; daughters Edna Ann Carlisle-Barnes and husband, Stanley J., of Port Aransas, Ann Conyers and husband, Dewey, of Silver City, N.M., and Brenda Humphries of Chico; sons Edward Carlisle and wife, P.J., of Dallas, Robert Norman, Jerry Humphries and wife, Rita, of Chico, Steve Humphries and wife, Tracy, of Baker City, Ore., and Ike Humphries and wife, Tiffany, of Springfield, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters Reba Epps and husband, Toby, of Chico and Rena Price of Mount Vernon.
