Charles Roscoe Knupp

Charles “Chuck” Roscoe Knupp, 96, of Runaway Bay, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, in Decatur.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Phillip Weitner officiating. Burial will follow at West Bridgeport Cemetery.

Visitation is at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are his grandchildren, Miles, Owen, Micah, Sam, Connor, Garrett, Liam and Daniel.

Chuck was born March 31, 1921, in Warren County, Penn., to Charles M. and Myrtle (Wood) Knupp. He married Margaret Wade Jan. 4, 1999, in Colleyville. Chuck served his country in the Army Air Corps/United States Air Force as a pilot and an officer flying B-24s with missions over Germany during World War II.

He was also a veteran of the Korean War. Chuck obtained the rank of captain at the end of his service. He was a retired air traffic controller.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Eleanore Knupp; second wife Ruth Jane Knupp; son Charles Randall “C.R.” Knupp; and siblings Inez Marguerite, Lyall Vernon, Everett La Verne, Lelah, Norris, Greta, Gilbert Monroe, Clarence Jean and two infant siblings.

He is survived by his wife; sons James Knupp of Graham, Mark Knupp and wife, Linda, of Azle, Cary Knupp and wife, Cherie, of Lake Worth; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
