As we head into wild game hunting season, you may be contemplating what to do with the products of your hunt.

According to experts from “Field and Stream” magazine, making sausage is a perfect way to spice up the wild game you bring home from the field. Venison is ideal for sausage. It’s lean and takes on different spices and flavors well. It’s also a great use of trim meat.

To help hunters and consumers, Texas A&M AgriLife and the Wise County Leadership Advisory Board are hosting a wild game sausage making workshop 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Wise County Fairgrounds Women’s Building.

The workshop will provide an in-depth educational opportunity with hands-on experiences. The cost is $25 and will be limited to 25 people. You may register and receive information on how to make payment by calling the Extension office at 940-626-3341.

Come join us to learn the basics of sausage making and be able to take home some of your work to share with friends and family.
