The annual Wise County Pasture Management Workshop will be held March 7 at the Bridgeport Community Center, 1102 Lawdwin Ave.

Registration will start at 10:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 11. Lunch will be sponsored by Protocol Naturals of Bridgeport.

This year’s agenda should prove to be very beneficial for all producers with an interest in improving pastures and forage management.

Stephenville’s James Jackson, Extension Program Specialist for Range Management, will speak on a couple of topics. His first speech will cover “Improved Pasture Weed Management, Product Update and Economics of Weed Management.”

During lunch, there will be an update on Protocol Natural product lines and how they can improve our beef cattle production efficiently and economically.

Jackson will cover Range and Pasture Application Technology using ATV sprayers after lunch. The demonstration will show how to correctly calibrate your sprayers and nozzle size on how it affects droplet size and drift.

Continuing education credits will be offered for general and drift minimization for TDA Pesticide Applicator License holders. The program is sponsored by the Wise County Livestock and Forage Committee.

The registration fee is $10 per person ($15 at the door). Call Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Wise County at 940-627-3341 to reserve your spot.
