COMMISSIONERS BUY ONE ATV – Commissioners finally agreed Monday to buy one ATV for Wise County EMS and sell the department’s old unit at auction. EMS Administrator Charles Dillard first made his request a month ago, and this week was the third time the issue has been discussed. Due to questions about liability and insurance in the last 30 days, Dillard’s request went from three vehicles to one and the primary use being general emergency calls instead of private racetracks, as first described. The vehicle package will cost $22,500, which includes the ATV, a slide-in unit to more comfortably carry patients and a trailer. It will be paid for with capital expenditure funds.
