AREA TRACK MEETS – Decatur and Bridgeport athletes will compete in the 9/10-4A area track meet at Decatur High School today. The field events start at 10 a.m. and running at 1 p.m. Alvord and Chico athletes are competing at the 11/12-2A meet in Springtown that begins with field events at 10 a.m. and running events start at 5 p.m.
DECATUR BASEBALL DELAYED – The Decatur Eagles’ home finale against Krum was postponed until today at 7:30 p.m.
BULLS FALL TO ARGYLE – No. 2 Argyle used a seven-run third inning to take down the Bridgeport Bulls 11-2 Tuesday. Hayden Sutherland doubled and drove in a run for the Bulls. Creighton Witt struck out 12 and allowed only four hits in Boyd’s 3-0 win over Nocona. Will Reeves drove in three runs in Paradise’s 13-6 victory over City View. Northwest won its seventh straight game on Cayde Ward’s sacrifice fly in the sixth inning of a 6-5 win over Aledo. In softball, the Decatur Lady Eagles fell to Krum 13-0. Kristin Rasbury knocked in seven runs in the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets’ 22-4 win over Nocona. Kaycee Martin went 3-for-4 with a triple but it was not enough in the Paradise Lady Panthers’ 6-2 loss to City View. Aledo tripped up the Northwest Lady Texans 2-0. Ashton Vanhoose homered in the Bridgeport Sissies’ 6-4 loss to Argyle.
GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY – The Wise County Genealogical Society will meet 7 p.m. Thursday at Decatur Church of Christ. The program is “I’ve got – or – I am getting my DNA report: Now what do I do with it?” presented by Patti Gillespie.
