SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED – A Lake Worth man was arrested this weekend and charged in the shooting at a party in Wise County on Sept. 23. Archie Jameson Coleman, 29, was arrested on a traffic stop in Parker County Saturday and transferred to the Wise County Jail Sunday. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct discharge firearm. Coleman was released from the Wise County Jail Monday after posting $40,000 bond. The shooting took place at a home in the 1200 block of County Road 3791 near Cottondale in the early morning hours of Saturday, Sept. 23. A 28-year-old man was shot twice at the party. The victim was treated and released from a Fort Worth hospital.

TUESDAY VOLLEYBALL – The 11th-ranked Decatur Lady Eagles will take on 14th-ranked Krum in a rematch of last year’s 4A Region II quarterfinal at 6 tonight at Decatur High School Gym. In other action, Alvord travels to Ranger. Bridgeport faces Argyle at home. Boyd heads to Holliday. Chico takes on Perrin at home. Northwest welcomes in Chisholm Trail. Paradise will play Nocona at home.

STORM CHANCES – Today’s forecast includes a 50 percent chance of storms this afternoon with a high of 86 degrees. Those same rain chances continue tonight and tomorrow.

PARKINSON’S SUPPORT – The Parkinson’s Support Group meets 6 p.m. today at 609 Medical Center Dr. in Decatur.

PLAY DATES – Family Place Play Dates return to the Chico Public Library 11:00 a.m.-noon today. Family Place Play Dates are designed for infants and toddlers birth to age 3. RIBBON CUTTING FOR MUSEUM – The Wise County Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for the Paradise Museum, 216 Main St., noon-1 p.m. Wednesday.

COMMUNITY MEETING ON ANNEXATION – A community meeting regarding Bridgeport’s annexation plan is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Laquinta in Bridgeport. The meeting is open to landowners in the current annexation plan, landowners outside the current annexation plan and people interested with the group’s efforts. GARDEN CLUB MEETING – Bridgeport Garden Club, which serves all of Wise County, will hold its monthly meeting 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Bridgeport Community Center. NIGHT OUT – The Decatur Police Department will host National Night Out 6-8 tonight on the Decatur Square. The event will include free hot dogs, chips, drinks, popcorn, ice cream, jump house, child fingerprint ID, distracted driving simulator and the Decatur Fire Department Clown Show.

COFFEE WITH A COP – The Bridgeport Police Department will hold Coffee with a Cop 7-9 a.m. Wednesday at Five Boys.

CRIME WATCH MEETING – The Bridgeport Police Department is hoping to establish a crime watch group for neighborhoods on the town’s west side after a string of petty thefts in the area. The department will hold a community meeting 6 tonight at the Outreach of Love Church, 300 Cates St. The church was previously the Twin Oaks Assembly of God.

FUNERALS – Mass of Christian burial for Candelario Pacheco, 88, of Decatur is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight with rosary said at 6 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

MEMORIAL service for Walter Francis Pac, 92, of Decatur is 11 a.m. Saturday at Hawkins Chapel in Decatur. Family visitation is 30 minutes before service on Saturday at the funeral home.

SERVICE for Cynthia Compton, 66, of Chico is 11 a.m. today at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at Chico Cemetery.
