Volleyball: Lady Texans even record in 6-5A

Kori James buried 11 kills to lead the Northwest Lady Texans to a sweep of Brewer Tuesday night.

James hit .286 and made 10 digs in the Lady Texans’ 25-22, 25-21, 25-20 victory.

Northwest (19-9) evened its record in District 6-5A at 1-1.

Rylie Anderson added nine kills and Bailey Tompkins six.

Analise Lucio handed out 28 assists and dug nine shots.

Jewell Pavlakovic made 18 digs.


The Alvord Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-1 in District 9-2A with a three-game loss to Poolville Tuesday, 25-17, 25-20, 27-25.

Christina Thomas finished with 10 kills and an ace for the Lady Bulldogs.

Kinly Walker landed five kills and made 24 digs.

Kendall Connolly doled out 17 assists.


The Paradise Lady Panthers dropped to 0-2 in District 8-3A, falling to Holliday in four games (25-18, 25-18, 20-25, 25-16).

Harley Mayfield put down 11 kills and Ashley Kosman eight.

Saylea Mayfield handed out 17 assists and Kennedy Schneck 10.

Danae Meadows blocked five shots and Alexis Henderson four.

Gracie Barnett dug 10 shots and Harley Mayfield eight.
