Volleyball: Four Wise teams pick up wins

The Boyd Lady Yellowjackets moved closer to locking up their third straight district title Tuesday, beating 8-3A co-leader Henrietta in straight sets in dominant fashion.

Boyd hit .319, winning 25-18, 25-19, 25-21 to move to 11-1 in district. The Lady Yellowjackets can clinch the title with a victory Friday over Jacksboro.

Macee Valtr led the Boyd attack with 13 kills, hitting .571. Jordyn Todd put down 12.

Tori Pellegrini handed out 19 assists. Macey McCune had 15.

Laney Pellegrini blocked three shots. Jacey Cate had two.

Todd made 17 digs and Larrin Maxwell 16.


Autumn Finney and Harper Lowery landed seven kills apiece as the Decatur Lady Eagles swept Gainesville Tuesday.

Decatur won 25-8, 25-14, 25-9 to move to 6-2 in District 9-4A. With the win and Argyle’s victory over Krum, the Lady Eagles moved within a match of first place with two left. Decatur takes on Krum Friday and Argyle Tuesday.

Decatur hit .261 during the match. Madison Lowery buried six kills.

Makenna Gantt handed out 14 assists and Mallory Downe 12.

Tayte Helton served four of the Lady Eagles’ nine aces.

Defensively, Satasha Kostelecky blocked four shots. Kallie Boner made 16 digs and Helton 15.


Bailey Tompkins put down 11 kills in just 17 attacks as Northwest took down Azle in three games Tuesday.

Northwest won 25-21, 25-15, 25-12 to keep their playoff hopes alive. Northwest is two matches behind Eaton for fourth in 6-5A with two left. The Lady Texans close the regular season against Eaton Tuesday.

Northwest hit .275 against Azle.

Kori James tallied nine kills. Oakley O’Dell landed eight.

Analise Lucio handed out 31 assists, made 13 digs and served four aces.


The Paradise Lady Panthers took down City View in three games Tuesday.

Harley Mayfield buried nine kills and Gracie Barnett five in the 25-11, 25-22, 25-21 victory.

Saylea Mayfield registered 10 assists and Kennedy Schneck nine.

Ashley Kosman served three aces.

Kosman made 14 digs and Schneck 12. Harley Mayfield and Danae Meadows blocked a pair of shots.

The Chico Lady Dragons made quick work of Ranger Tuesday, 25-17, 25-11, 26-24.

Jessica Byers and Kayla Clampitt served five aces apiece.

Byers added 11 kills with a block. Michaela Martin put down six kills with a pair of blocks.

Laynee North made 56 sets with nine kills and 20 digs.


The Alvord Lady Bulldogs outlasted Newcastle in five games Tuesday.

Alvord won 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 14-25, 16-14.

Kinly Walker landed nine kills and made 43 digs. Christina Thomas had seven kills. Kendall Connolly handed out 18 assists.
