Softball: Northwest falls short

Tori Herbert blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to bring the Northwest Lady Texans within a run.

Northwest couldn’t push across another run, falling to Chisholm Trail 4-3 loss Tuesday.

The Lady Texans (11-8) fell to 3-2 in District 6-5A.

Chisholm Trail jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second with back-to-back, run-scoring doubles.

Kelsey Rhine silenced the Chisholm Trail bats after the second inning. She struck out four, giving up seven hits and four runs over six innings.

McKenzie Middlebrook and Shelby Hodo had two hits each for the Lady Texans.

Northwest played Aledo Friday and will go to Azle Tuesday.
