After falling behind 6-0 in the first inning, the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets fought back with four runs in the bottom of the seventh and got the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position.

But an interference call and groundout kept Boyd from evening the game in an 8-7 loss to Jacksboro Tuesday night.

The loss was the second straight for the Lady Yellowjackets, who fell to 5-4 in District 8-3A.

Jacksboro took advantage of four hits, including back-to-back doubles, two errors and a pair of walks to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Jacksboro tacked on a run in the third to go up 7-0.

Boyd committed seven errors in the game.

Boyd started chipping into the lead with a run in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Trailing 8-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, Boyd scored three runs on a pair of bases-loaded walks and an error. Sydney Langley then brought home a fourth run with a single that kept the bases loaded with one out.

Boyd could not capitalize on the chance, stranding the runners on base.
