Softball: Alvord rallies for win

Brittany Gayler’s three-run homer started a four-run, seventh-inning rally in the Alvord Lady Bulldogs’ 6-5 comeback victory over Valley View Friday.

Janelle Tambunga and Maley Mader added RBIs in the win. Mader went 2-for-4.

CHICO 15, MUENSTER 0

The Chico Lady Dragons needed only two-and-a-half innings to finish off Muenster Friday.

Chico scored six runs in the first and nine in the second on the way to the 15-0 victory in three innings.

HENRIETTA 5, BOYD 2

The Boyd Lady Yellowjackets couldn’t capitalize on their opportunity to jump into a share of the District 8-3A lead Friday.

Henrietta scored a pair of runs in the first inning and led the entire way in a 5-2 victory over Boyd.

Sydney Langley homered for Boyd in the seventh, but Boyd could not sustain a rally.

GAINESVILLE 12, BRIDGEPORT 3

The Bridgeport Sissies dropped to 0-5 in District 9-4A with a 12-3 loss to Gainesville Monday.

Katelyn McComis, Kasi Martinez and Hailey Hollingsworth drove in the Sissies’ three runs.

KRUM 17, DECATUR 0

The Krum Lady Bobcats handed the Decatur Lady Eagles their second straight setback in District 9-4A Friday.

EATON 6, NORTHWEST 1

Eaton scored all six of its runs in the bottom of the first on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Northwest Lady Texans Friday.

JACKSBORO 6, PARADISE 5

The Paradise Lady Panthers fought back from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game in the top of the sixth Friday.

But Jacksboro plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to steal the 6-5 win over the Lady Panthers.
