The Decatur junior recorded four tackles for losses among his five stops in the Eagles’ overtime win over Alvarado Friday. Roth also registered a quarterback hurry.

HONORABLE MENTION

Player, School … Notable

Tucker Edwards, Paradise … The linebacker was in on nine tackles and made two stops for losses.

Jack Ishmael, Paradise … The Panthers defensive back picked off two passes.

Ryan Roberts, Bridgeport … The linebacker was in on 13 stops, two for losses, and recorded a sack.

Josh Sij, Decatur … The safety made 10 tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DeMareus Hosey

DeMareus Hosey
Northwest, junior

In just his second game as the Texans’ starting back, DeMareus Hosey rushed for 381 yards and four touchdowns. He scored on runs of 9, 11, 1 and 31 yards.

Jerod Blanks, Chico … The Dragons quarterback ran for 2 scores and threw for another, running for 153 yards.

Wilson Hicks, Decatur … The Eagles quarterback threw for 314 yards and 4 TDs against Alvarado.

Jadon Maddux, Bridgeport … The Bulls signal caller ran for 153 yards and two scores.

Mario Reyes, Decatur … The receiver caught six passes for 120 yards and 2 TDs.
