Bridgeport, fresh off its first win of the season over Benbrook, takes on undefeated Graham at the Steers’ home stadium Friday.

The game will kick off district play for both teams.

Though Bridgeport scored six touchdowns against Benbrook, the Bulls’ defense gave up six touchdowns in return, yielding 391 yards to Benbrook running back Quintan Jackson. The Bobcats’ inability to get extra points on the board and a defensive stop within the last minute of the fourth quarter kept the game from reaching a tie.

“We need to work on defense,” coach Shannon Wilson said Friday night. “But we found a way to get a stop at the end.”

Graham, currently No. 3 in the state, will likely pose a tougher offensive challenge. The Steers are favored over the Bulls by 42 points, and they have two players with more than 1,000 yards on the season. Quarterback Tucker Horn has 1,686 passing yards, and running back Chase Gilmore has 1,011 yards rushing. Graham’s top receiver, Cameron Parker, has 585 yards this season.
